Eating Out
The choice of places to eat when visiting Lochaber has grown steadily over the past few years. There are gourmet restaurants, quality seafood restaurants, family restaurants and family-friendly lounge bars - not to forget many take-away or fast food outlets. In the summer time places can be busy so if possible book ahead. In the winter, not everyone is open and operating hours are often shorter than you might expect. Having said that, there are plenty good places to eat during the winter months and these businesses look forward to welcoming you. Inverlochy Castle Old Pines Nightlife Nightlife here is typically rural but that doesn't necessarily mean sedate. Central pubs such as the Grog and Gruel and the Maryburgh (Fort William's oldest pub) all have live music. For a drink with a view, head along to The Ben Nevis Inn in Glen Nevis, just a few minutes' walk from Fort William's town centre.
